You are Welcome Here
In 1994, St. JME voted to become a Reconciling in Christ Congregation. We affirm lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual, and queer persons, and their allies, welcoming all to full participation in the life of this church.
You are welcome, however you name your faith tradition.
You are welcome, however you name and claim your self-understanding: straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, asexual, transgender, intersex, two-spirit, cisgender, or otherwise.
You are welcome, however you identify racially, ethnically, or culturally, whatever your financial status, your physical or mental health status, your relationship status, or your immigration status.
Each time we gather to worship at St. JME, we acknowledge that this church building stands on traditional and unceded land which was cared for by the Lenape people.
As we worship a God who longs for justice, reconciliation, and peace for and with all creation, let us work towards a world where God’s peace and justice reign.
All are joyfully welcome. All means ALL.

St. John-St. Matthew Emanuel Lutheran Church, with its rich, diverse history, is a community of baptized people which finds joyful unity in the grace of God the Father, the love of Jesus Christ, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Through Word and Sacrament, we are empowered to share the Gospel, to love one another, and to serve God, our congregation and our community with our diverse talents and resources. We are guided by the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions in all that we do. We are committed to Christian education. We welcome all into our midst, just as Christ has welcomed us. We will meet the challenges that the future holds, confident that God will direct and guide us. (Adopted June 4, 1989.)
